About Us


The Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) is the body that co-ordinates the activities of Technical Training Institutes all over the country. It was started in the year 1997.

 The Association provides a common forum for identifying common interests to the institutions and determining strategies for addressing such issues for the purpose of the qualitative and quality improvement of Technical Education and Training in Kenya.

 The Association has its headquarters at Kose Heights Argwings Kodhek Road Hurlinghum, Nairobi. Its membership includes all institutions under the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labour, Kenya Railways, Ministry of Communication, National Youth Service and Private TVET Colleges. Its total membership currently is over 100 institutions following the upgrading of new institutions from youth polytechnics to Technical Training Institutions and construction of new Institutions.

 The Association is a non-political body which always endeavours to promote Technical Training to higher levels in technological advancement. The  Organisational Structure of the professional body  is such that, the whole country is represented  in its management where the National Chairperson is the one who ensures the smooth running of the Association’s Programmes and is the main spokesman of the body. The Secretary General is the Chief Executive of the Association and the National Treasurer is the custodian of the Association’s funds.
